I'd like to start off by saying that I am a huge Phillies fan. Honestly, if you looked at my bedroom closet you would see that I could probably clothe myself for at least two weeks with Phillies shirts and jerseys alone (and another two weeks with Marvel related t-shirts). I've been to at least fifty or sixty games since Citizens Bank Park has opened and I planned my vacation week to be now, not because it happens to fall on my anniversary (which I told my fiancé) but because I would be able to see every NLCS game without interruption (sadly I fell victim to a bidding war between Cable Vision and NewsCorp., but I'll write about that another day). It may seem like I'm rambling at this point, but I thought it was necessary you know all this before I say what I'm about to say... I want Brian Wilson as my closer instead of Brad Lidge.

It's alright Brad, maybe the Astro's will take you back.
I know that that might sound harsh, but it’s simply the truth. Yes, Brad helped us win a World Series in ’08 while having a perfect year on the mound for saves, and no, I’m not angry at him for his less than stellar performance last year, in fact, I was extremely happy when he bounced back this year after an off season surgery. It’s just that… ahhh how can I say this? It’s just that what he brings to the field he lacks in the facial hair department.
I mean look at that magical mane this guy was able to grow. Sometimes I think batters get lost in it. Hell, it’s even taken over San Francisco in the form of T-shirts that read “Fear the Beard”. I know Brad tries with his little goatee thing, but in this writer’s opinion he’s just not trying hard enough.

Look at how well groomed it is. I know I wouldn't want to face that.
Wait, you thought I wanted Wilson because of his talent and 48 saves for this season. No, I could care less about this guys stats; in fact, I never even paid attention to Wilson before his amazing beard came around. I mean if you think about it, who really cares about him without that marketable beast hugging his face? He’s just another closer from another team in the league.

Seriously, I don't know if this guy is the pitcher or the bat boy.
So in closing, I hope you all realize that I like the Phils line-up just the way it is and the 2-1 deficit (as of this writing) is nothing that I’m worried about. Also, if you’re a fan of the San Francisco Giants please don’t get angry as I yell… GO PHILS!!!!!
