And now for something completely different... alittle southern fried twang.
Now, now, now... I know what you may be thinking... "Is he gonna play a country song? I don't dig country, that's an acquired taste I have not acquired." To that I say, "Nay!... sorta."
Ryan Bingham is not your stereotypical country artist, with the connotation of songs about pick-up trucks and his dog. He's a bonafide country music, I got hard-times songwriter. His backing band, the Dead Horses, are an amazing group of musicians, and they really bring a face to country music that reminds you of folks like Johnny Cash, not that I'm saying he's on level with the Man in Black, but Ryan Bingham, and his band, are a talented group of guys.
His music is catchy, yet very down home, and he sounds like 70 year old who's been drinking whiskey and smoking cigs all of his life, and he's only 25 years old. When I first heard him, I honestly thought it was Bob Dylan.
So, dear reader, I request that you hold your judgment until after you've heard Bread and Water from Bingham's big label debut of 07, titled Mescalito, and see if Mr. Bingham and his boys can change your mind about how you view country music.

Man the guy sounds vaguely familiar. I listen to country a lot (mostly due to my wife's preference), and I can't say I've really heard much of his work. Probably drowned out by more current, contemporary artists. Still, I'll keep my ears peeled for him.
