Today CNN published a story '9 Things you shouldn't say to your kids..'

So I thought it would be fun to see how many of these things I've said to my own kids and perhaps remember the context of the diatribes for your reading pleasure.

Let's just say things get interesting...

My birthday is coming up in a few months and I'm going to be the supposedly cursed age of 27. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the curse, famous people like Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hedrix and Tupac, all died at the age of 27. All three of these men become even more successful after their deaths. I've made the assumption that if I fake my own death at 27 I'll become just as rich and famous as them, but I'll actually be alive to enjoy the money.

School will be ending for a long summer break very soon. That's typically great news for kids but bad news for parents. But it doesn't have to be. There are some great things you can do with your kids during the summer that don't involve required reading.

The Bizarre - Matthew Roberts

This week's Bizarre is not about some crazed serial killer from 1800's, or some other macabre story, but it's pretty darned close. This week we talk about Matthew Roberts', and his search for his biological father.

Roberts, born in Illinois in 1967, was raised in an orphanage, until the age of 10, when he was adopted. At the age of 12 he started to ask questions, as most adopted children do, about where he came from, and who is parents are. However, he didn't start looking for answers until 2000, and part of him, probably wishes he didn't.

The Bizarre - Snow Day!

Time for more odd things to be placed in front of your optical nerves!! First, though, I have something to say... I'm not gonna lie to you Marge. I'm kind of dialing this one in today. It's been a whirlwind week with the Christmas holidays, and now we're being hit with a crap ton of snow here on the East Coast. So, I thought, what better way to celebrate a snow day, then with 10 of the most bizarre snow sculptures I've ever seen! Sadly, I'll have no snow day, as I can, and will, work from home... though, I get to do it with no pants on, which is a definate win.

Anyway, to business!

Greetings and salutations gathering groupies! I want to get off topic (we had a topic?) today and discuss a matter of utmost importance. This is something that affects me very deeply (that’s what she said!) on a personal level. When the hell did the Cookie Monster become the Veggie Monster?
